What is The Maitland?

The Maitland is a four-season sport facility which has been part of the mosaic of Goderich and area for nearly a century. Founded in 1921, The Maitland provides recreation, exercise and social events to members, the general public, tourists and visitors alike. We are proud to offer you a welcoming environment and a friendly staff team, eager to meet your golf, tennis and pickleball needs.

The Maitland is also a great place to host your special event, whether it’s a family gathering for 20 or an office party for 90 people. We have (optional) catering packages, and our licensed facility offers bar service as well. Get in touch and we’ll be happy to tell you more.

The longevity of The Maitland, and the ongoing patronage of the community speak to the importance and convenience of having varied athletic activities within town limits. We are accessible by auto, bicycle and even on foot. Many rounds of golf are enjoyed at The Maitland every season. A keen tennis group has been enjoying the courts since 1976. All aspects of The Maitland are accessible to the public through daily fees, and Memberships are also available.
